The Wanderer

For years returned Rotary Youth Exchange students (also known as ROTEX) have used the phrase “Not all who wander are lost” to express the special world-view and mindset of a Rotary exchange student.

In this spirit, The Wanderer publishes blog posts, emails, and other messages from Rotary Youth Exchange students currently abroad (Outbounds), those visiting Minnesota and Wisconsin (Inbounds), and returned students (Rebounds). As a collection of thoughts and reflections throughout the entire exchange process, The Wanderer offers a glimpse into the life of a Rotary exchange student. While the editors of The Wanderer may make some changes for length and grammar, the posts are written by students living the life of a Rotary student! The nerves, the excitement, the fears, and the joys are all genuine.

However, this publication is only a glimpse in the truest sense of the word. To really experience the life of an exchange student, your only option is to go abroad yourself!
